Sales development representatives (SDRs) are responsible for outbound sales prospecting. Rather than trying to close deals, their work revolves around generating and qualifying new leads—and moving them through the sales pipeline, until they’re ready to talk to our Account Executives as our sales “closers.” This two-step system enables our Account Executives to focus on closing deals, rather than finding new leads, getting past gatekeepers, and other prospecting-related tasks.
SDRs build a solid understanding of the industry and sales process to spark meaningful conversations. As a result, they spend much of their time reaching out to potential clients through the early stages of the sales funnel, either preparing prospects to speak with a closer or screening their true intention to buy.

As the first line of communication with prospects, ideal SDRs have a strong understanding of the sales process, excelling at researching leads, starting new relationships, and setting our sales closers up for success. You should be a quick learner with strong communication skills, and have the ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. Every potential customer is an opportunity for you to boost top-line revenue growth, customer acquisition levels, and profitability.
Generating new business leads
Cold calling potential customers and building relationships.
Identifying customer needs and selling products accordingly.
Working with weekly, monthly, quarterly sales targets and OKR’s.
Arranging meetings with clients and carrying out product demonstrations.
Following up swiftly on sales enquiries and sending out information.
Working closely with other teams to develop new business.
Researching the market and identifying potential target customers (ICPs).
Attending industry events in order to generate business leads.
Previous business experience, ideally from a company in the same or similar industry.
Proven track record of bringing new business and a natural ability to drive sales.
Must be self-motivated, trustworthy and with a strong desire to succeed.
Well organised with experience using CRM systems (Hubspot, Salesloft, Copper).
Excellent time management skills, Positive attitude and “love of selling”;
An Entrepreneurial attitude is absolutely necessary.
